The San Diego Padres outfielder said he returns with the same energy shown in the international tournament. In a recent statement, he made it clear that his mentality is to compete at the highest level from the start of the season.

Tatis acknowledged that the MLB campaign is a 162-game marathon, which demands a different physical and mental management. Even so, he insisted that motivation and enthusiasm will not be lacking in his game.

Dominican Republic came close to the final

During the tournament, Tatis represented the Dominican Republic, which had an outstanding performance but was eliminated in the semifinals against the United States.

Despite the elimination, the Dominican team showed a good overall level, consolidating itself as one of the most competitive teams in the tournament.

Leadership and responsibility in the Padres

Looking ahead to the 2026 season, Tatis assumes a key role within the Padres. Beyond his individual performance, the Dominican is shaping up to be one of the team’s leaders as they look to make their mark on MLB.

The challenge will be to maintain this level over a long season, where consistency is usually the difference.

Padres aim to compete in a tough division

The San Diego Padres aim to compete in the National League West, where they are behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are considered favorites.

However, there is confidence within the team that they can fight for a place in the postseason and spring a surprise in October, when everything is decided.
