Former LSU football star and three-time Super Bowl winner Kevin Faulk and his family have suffered a tragedy, with daughter Tanasha Faulk passing away undexpectly on Saturday morning at the age of 30. Kevin is currently on the coaching staff of the New York Giants.

She died at Oschner Lafayette Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana.?Authorities, as reported by Acadiana Advocate, have not released a confirmed cause of death, though investigators say there is no reason to suspect foul play.

A second tragedy for the Faulk family

The tragedy has once again shaken the Faulk family, who suffered a similar loss in 2021 when their daughter Kevione died unexpectedly at just 19.

At the time, she was working as a student assistant within the LSU football program, a community with deep ties to the Faulks.

Tanasha‘s obituary highlights her devotion to her family, especially her role as a mother to her three young daughters, who were at the heart of her life.

“Being their mother brought her so much joy and she was immensely proud watching them grow and learn,” her obituary reads, according to the Acadiana Advocate.

“Tanasha also found joy in holidays, birthdays, family gatherings, and especially Mardi Gras. She loved to cook and was happiest when preparing meals that brought people together. Her generosity, laughter, and loving nature created a sense of home wherever she went.”

A 2014 graduate of Carencro High School, Tanasha followed in the footsteps of her father, who once led the school to a state championship as quarterback in 1992.

Her parents, Kevin and Latisha, have been together since their school days and also share a son, Kevin III.

Kevin Faulk, now 49, went on to become one of LSU’s most celebrated running backs, earning All-American recognition and setting the program’s all-time rushing record.

His NFL career with the New England Patriots brought three Super Bowl victories before he transitioned into coaching at LSU.

The sudden loss of Tanasha has led to an outpouring of sympathy from friends, former teammates, and the wider LSU community, all remembering a woman whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impact.
