Strong words from Mike Vrabel, Head Coach of the New England Patriots, about Josh Allen, the reigning NFL MVP

Week 15 of the NFL season was defined by a spectacular performance from Josh Allen against the New England Patriots, as the Buffalo Bills remain in contention for the AFC East title. By the end of the second quarter, the Bills were trailing by 17 points. However, the reigning MVP showed why he is a serious Super Bowl contender this year, leading a stunning comeback against what had been, up to that point, an unstoppable Patriots team.

As if that weren’t enough, the Buffalo Bills quarterback reminded everyone why he was named MVP last season and firmly re-entered the conversation for the award this year, alongside Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and the second-year quarterback he faced in this game, Drake Maye.

The Bills’ defense stepped up in the second half, despite allowing a 65-yard touchdown run by TreVeyon Henderson that gave the Patriots a 31-28 lead. Still, Tre’Davious White came up with a key interception, and Buffalo’s defense allowed only 10 points in the second half, playing a crucial role in the spectacular comeback on the Patriots’ home field.

Mike Vrabel had nothing but respect for Josh Allen

There is no doubt that Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, continuing his steady march toward the Super Bowl-especially after his performances against the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots. Had the Bills lost to the Patriots, the divisional crown would have already belonged to New England. Instead, thanks to the remarkable comeback, the Bills remain alive in the race for the division title.

After the game, Mike Vrabel was asked about Josh Allen’s outstanding performance. The Patriots head coach showed nothing but respect for the reigning MVP, saying: “Same thing everybody else sees. 6’5″, 250 lbs., runs fast, hard to tackle, hard to get down on the ground, accurate, strong arm. Giving you a dissertation on a league MVP. Just watch all the games… That’s why they pay him $60 million. I don’t know what to tell you.”

In the decisive moment of the game, Josh Allen once again proved why he is among the elite in the NFL. Early in the fourth quarter, he fired a powerful pass that Dawson Knox caught in the end zone. That play was the most important moment in the Buffalo Bills’ dramatic comeback.

It’s worth remembering that the Buffalo Bills have only one goal this season: to reach-and win-the Super Bowl. Anything less would be considered a failure for the team led by Sean McDermott, and especially for Josh Allen, who has accomplished nearly everything with the franchise except returning it to the NFL’s biggest game-a stage the Bills haven’t reached in nearly 30 years and have never won.
