Strong rumors are circulating about Myles Garrett’s possible move to the Dallas Cowboys

Strong speculation has emerged that Myles Garrett, the star edge rusher for the Cleveland Browns, could be on the move, with the Dallas Cowboys reportedly at the forefront of trade discussions.

The conversation surrounding Garrett’s potential departure has accelerated following recent contract adjustments, fueling rumors about a possible high-profile swap.

Earlier this week, ESPN‘s Field Yates reported that Garrett and the Browns agreed to modify certain elements of his contract, specifically the timing of bonus payouts.

While these adjustments were not substantial in terms of salary, they carry the effect of making Garrett a more tradable asset.

Despite official statements from Cleveland insisting they are not actively pursuing a trade, insiders note that the club’s prior willingness to negotiate, coupled with their disappointing five-win season in 2025, leaves the door open.

Garrett previously demanded a trade during a difficult period for the franchise, though a $160 million, four-year contract temporarily quelled that unrest.

The Dallas Cowboys, meanwhile, have become a focal point in discussions about Garrett’s next destination.

Analysts have speculated that Dallas may be willing to part with two first-round picks this year, as well as their 2027 first-round selection, which Cleveland covets for potential quarterback Arch Manning, as part of a package to acquire the defensive superstar.

Proposed trade terms and roster implications

Longtime Browns reporter Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland suggested a hypothetical deal that would make sense for both teams.

He proposed that Dallas could offer its first-round selections at No. 12 and No. 20 in this year’s draft, along with its 2027 first-round pick and a player, to bring Garrett to Texas.

“The key to a Garrett trade, of course, would be to secure an extra pick, or more, in 2027,” Grossi explained.

The potential trade also addresses positional needs for both franchises. Cleveland is reportedly focused on strengthening its offensive line, particularly at left tackle, while the Cowboys may have flexibility regarding Tyler Guyton, their 2024 first-round selection.

The team had shifted Tyler Smith to tackle and started TJ Bass at guard late last season, a strategy that could be revisited if Guyton is included in the trade package.

While it is still early in the NFL offseason, often referred to as “silly season”, the pieces appear to align for a deal that could dramatically reshape both teams.

Garrett, who set a new single-season sack record with 23.0 last year, is widely regarded as one of the most dominant pass-rushers in the league.

A move to Dallas would provide immediate defensive firepower, pairing him with elite players like Micah Parsons and potentially solidifying the Cowboys as a defensive powerhouse in the NFC.

Although nothing has been finalized, the rumors surrounding Myles Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys continue to generate significant discussion among NFL fans and analysts, with a blockbuster trade looming as one of the most intriguing storylines of the offseason.
