Steve Taneyhill cause of death: The Legendary quarterback died at 52

The legendary player and former important quarterback for the University of South Carolina, Steve Taneyhill, has sadly died, as announced by the institution. The signal-caller played with the team from 1992 to 1995 and broke several records during his time in the Gamecocks program.

Gamecock Nation mourns the loss of Steve Taneyhill, a pillar of Gamecock history,’ a USC statement read. ‘Our thoughts are with his loved ones. Rest in peace, Steve.

Taneyhill led his team to its first Bowl triumph, the CarQuest Bowl in 1995, which occurred right in his senior year.

After finishing college, he decided to stay on as a coach in South Carolina for Chesterfield High School from 2007-09, where he won three consecutive titles between 2007 and 2009.

In total, the former quarterback managed to secure seven titles with the Cambridge Academy in Greenwood. He also had a stint at West Ashley as an assistant and head coach at Union County High School.

For his great performances, Taneyhill was inducted into the University of South Carolina’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006.

Outside the world of football, he owned a couple of bars in Columbia and businesses in Spartanburg.
