Stephen Jones makes bold two-word statement on Cowboys’ offseason plans

The Dallas Cowboys offseason plans for the most part include being proactive with player contracts, primarily Micah Parsons and even Osa Odighizuwa, who is an impending free agent.

But also, the franchise can be active in the free agency market if it so desires, with our own Mike Fisher detailing time and again that with a couple of contract changes, the Cowboys could have up to $100 million in salary cap space.

With the Cowboys first saying they planned to change their ways this offseason with regards to how they do their business, it seems that leopards don’t change their spots.

Stephen Jones and the offseason plans

Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones spoke about the Cowboys’ offseason plans ahead of the talent test in Indianapolis, and it won’t exactly fill Cowboys Nation with hope that things will change.

“We’re going to look at everything we can,” Jones said in a video via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “We’re going to be selectively aggressive. We have a certain amount of resources that allow us to have, we’ll look at it. But we’re going to improve our football team and hopefully be successful next year.”

“Selectively aggressive” is one way to put it, and if that’s what Dallas “really” does, it could be a great offseason.

Many moves the Cowboys could make

First of all, it’s getting Micah and Osa as well, if things align.

Dallas can then begin looking for solid, affordable free agents such as Marquise Brown and Justin Reid and even bring back Jourdan Lewis and Rico Dowdle on team-friendly deals.

We’re not saying the Cowboys have to hire a Tee Higgins, but rather, do what they say they’re going to do.

“Selectively aggressive” can mean many things. But we hope it doesn’t mean the same as “all-inclusive”.
