Stephen Curry’s frustration increases while Steve Kerr talks about recovery deadlines

After missing 15 games due to his knee injury, Stephen Curry will have to wait for another 10 days to be back available, as news arrived from the Chase Center pointing out at a concern of a potential relapse.

Steve Kerr confirmed today that Curry will remain out of the squad for a bit more, pushing his total games missed to a staggering 20. For a player defined by his physique and discipline, not being immune to the troll of professional sports is just frustrating, creating a mental prison in his head every time he is given a diagnosis.

Steve Kerr revealed the information

Curry’s absence is rooted in a condition known as patellofemoral pain syndrome in his right knee. While it may sound like a common thing, for a player who makes multiple explosive runs every night, it is a weakening condition. The effects of it are a persistent, dull ache around the kneecap that flares up during high-impact movements like squatting, sprinting, or even sitting for extended periods.

While Kerr noted that Curry is recovering, he remains days away from the contact and conditioning required for NBA speed. Speaking to ‘95.7 The Game’, Kerr said:

“He is frustrated. He wants to be out there for his guys. It’s obviously been an injury that’s lasted a lot longer than anyone thought it would. We’re just trying to give him the best chance to come back and stay healthy and finish the season strongly

Not ready to be back yet

Although the 10-day deadline might seem soon enough, Curry is not ready to compete in a fast-paced and hard environment like the NBA for now. Kerr also mentioned this, suggesting that even though he is getting shots up, the best shooter of all time has not begun practicing yet, with expectations to start doing so in couple days.

“He hasn’t practiced yet. He’s getting shots up. But he’s not in a place yet where we’re saying he’s going to be practicing anytime in the next few days

With this, the Warriors find themselves in a race against the clock. Kerr’s approach to Curry’s situation is clear. He is not going to risk a relapse that could make him lose his star player again. In the meantime, Curry must be patient to come back stronger.
