Stephen Curry offers a ‘real’ suggestion to improve the All-Star Game

How can you make a game of such caliber as the NBA All-Star Game more interesting? This was the question Stephen Curry attempted to answer before the event, which will take place this Sunday at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, home of the Clippers.

Much to the disappointment of Golden State Warriors fans, Steph will not be present due to an injury that has kept him out of five games with the team, but he was present at the press conference and offered a ‘real’ suggestion to improve the All-Star Game.

Curry opens up about a big problem

The lack of effort and competitiveness on the part of the players in recent years has given fans a different perception than in other years. This has led Stephen himself to reflect on the matter and share his opinion with the press. He even ventured to offer a possible solution to this problem:

“I think the only thing I would think about is shortening the game. That might be the only real suggestion I would have just because it’s hard to replicate the intensity of a regular season game and nobody’s asking anybody to act like it’s a playoff game with those type of stakes, but shorter game maybe,” Curry said, via Hoopshype.

In addition, Curry assured that the NBA is working to offer a better experience for players, fans in attendance, and those watching on TV. In recent years, the league has changed its formats and experimented with others, so this year it will feature three teams (Team Stripes and Team USA will feature American players and Team World will showcase international stars) and several 12-minute games in a round-robin tournament, followed by a championship game. However, for Curry, there is no other solution.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Steph had been named a starter in the 75th NBA All-Star Game for the 11th time, making this his 12th appearance and one of only 17 players in league history to have twelve appearances with a single franchise. However, a knee injury will prevent him from taking part in this event, which is eagerly awaited by fans of the sport and the player, and will break this historic streak.

Stephen has missed 15 games this season, but averages 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals.

Meanwhile, unfortunately for NBA and Curry fans, they will have an unusual experience as he is one of the stars who usually puts on a real show for fans during the weekend and has been a constant presence since 2014 (except for 2020 when he had a wrist injury).

The event is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. ET.
