Stephen Curry continues to show his support for WNBA with heartwarming promise to Azzi Fudd

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has long been a vocal supporter of women’s basketball, not just through words, but also through meaningful action.

Back in November 2022, Curry made headlines when he wore a UConn jersey to honor Azzi Fudd, signaling just how much he values the women’s game.

“Basketball is basketball and continuing to do our part to shine a light and celebrate those women who are doing amazing things on the court,” Curry said at the time.

That wasn’t a fleeting gesture. His relationship with Azzi Fudd has grown steadily since 2018, when she became one of the first women to attend his elite basketball camp. Since then, Curry’s belief in Fudd’s potential – both on and off the court – has only intensified.

Most recently, that bond has translated into a collaborative media project. Fudd announced her new podcast, Fudd Around And Find Out, and Curry was among the first to amplify the news.

He shared the update with his 58.1 million Instagram followers, spotlighting Fudd’s announcement with excitement. “New podcast @azzi35. Best believe I’ll be listening! Check it out, 8/7,” he wrote, clearly endorsing her latest move.

Empowering female voices beyond the court

The podcast is more than just another show. It’s a collaboration between iHeartMedia and Unanimous Media – the production company Curry co-founded with longtime business partner Erick Peyton. This marks yet another chapter in Curry’s commitment to building platforms for underrepresented voices, especially women athletes.

Unanimous Media has a clear mission: to elevate narratives that inspire and spark change. Fudd’s podcast fits that mission perfectly. With Fudd Around And Find Out, she isn’t just entering the media space – she’s owning it, telling stories through her perspective as a young star in the women’s basketball world.

This move reflects a broader shift in how top athletes are leveraging their platforms to influence culture. Curry, arguably one of the most influential figures in modern basketball, has made it part of his legacy to support not just men’s basketball, but women’s as well.

A genuine ally for the women’s game

His partnerships with athletes like Cameron Brink – his god-sister – and now Azzi Fudd, underline his genuine commitment. While many male athletes voice support for women’s sports, Curry’s consistent efforts stand out.

From giving women opportunities at his basketball camps to collaborating with them through his business ventures, he’s shown that advocacy can – and should – be ongoing and actionable.

Fudd, now 22, is stepping into the spotlight with a clear vision and the backing of one of the game’s greatest. With Curry in her corner, and a platform as big as Unanimous Media and iHeart, her voice is poised to reach new audiences.

Fudd Around And Find Out debuts August 7, promising insight, conversation, and a new chapter for one of the most promising voices in women’s basketball media. And with Stephen Curry helping to push it forward, the game continues to grow far beyond the court.
