The dynamic duo of Stephen A. Smith and Malika Andrews, broadcasting partners on ESPN’s NBA coverage, recently set the internet abuzz with a seemingly lighthearted moment. During a TV commercial break during the intense Game 5 matchup between the Knicks and the Pacers, their on-air interaction caught the attention of many.

As the cameras rolled during the commercial, Stephen A. Smith was seen smiling while Malika Andrews appeared to be dancing in her seat, even prompting a similar, albeit more seated, movement from Smith. Her playful energy seemed to catch him slightly off guard, adding an unexpected and human touch to the broadcast.

This isn’t the first time these two have generated online chatter. Malika Andrews often captivates viewers with her insightful basketball knowledge and undeniable presence, while Stephen A. Smith is known for his often-polarizing and controversial takes, creating a compelling on-air dynamic.

Adding to her recent viral moments, Malika Andrews also received a memorable gift during ESPN’s pregame coverage of the Thunder versus Timberwolves series – a special token presented by the Thunder’s mascot. This lighthearted exchange further showcased her engaging personality beyond just her analytical skills.

Knicks Force Game 6

On the court, the New York Knicks managed to stave off elimination, forcing a Game 6 against the Indiana Pacers. Displaying resilience, the Knicks secured a decisive 111-94 victory in Game 5, holding off the Pacers who have shown their own knack for comebacks throughout the playoffs. Game 6 is now set for Saturday in Indiana.

This Game 5 loss marked the Pacers’ first defeat in a Game 5 situation this postseason, having previously closed out both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Cleveland Cavaliers in similar scenarios. The Knicks’ victory was largely fueled by a stellar performance from Jalen Brunson, who poured in 32 points on efficient shooting, continuing his outstanding playoff run. Brunson’s consistent scoring has placed him in elite company, joining LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the only players to record at least 10 games with 30 points and five assists in a single postseason.
