Stephanie White talks about Caitlin Clark’s return and breaks the hearts of Fever fans

Caitlin Clark had to watch from the bench as her team fell to the Collier team 151-131 during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game due to her groin injury.

Unfortunately, injuries have caused the Indiana Fever star to miss almost as many games as she has played this year. She has played in 12 games, while missing 11.

And that’s not counting the Commissioner’s Cup Final, where the Minnesota Lynx lost to Indiana, and the All-Star Game.

Looking ahead to their next games, the Fever are unlikely to be able to count on CC for their away game against the New York Liberty at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, on Tuesday, July 22.

Stephanie White talks about Caitlin’s return

Fever head coach Stephanie White shared a new update on Clark’s status with the press, stating that “she is making progress” and will travel to New York, but will not play:

I think that we’re continuing to address everything that needs to be addressed. She’s going to see some doctors and get some more tests run early in the week. I don’t expect her to be available on Tuesday.

This means that CC has now missed as many games as she has played this season. White also revealed that Clark will meet with doctors, as they hope to have more information about her injury.

We’re just going to continue to take it one day at a time and let her get her evaluations early this week, and then once we’ve done that hopefully we’ll have more of a clear [understanding] of what it looks like.

Unfortunately for Caitlin and her fans, she will not be able to face the current WNBA champions during this regular season, something that would have been interesting to see and that fans were looking forward to.

Clark was also absent from the first matchup, where the Fever fell 98-77 on June 16 in Brooklyn. Now, the team will travel to fight for a rematch and secure an important and much-needed victory.
