Stephanie White said that Caitlin Clark’s return will make the Fever “more dangerous,” but it will only happen under one condition

The Indiana Fever (17-12) earned their fifth consecutive victory by defeating the Seattle Storm (16-13) 78-74. However, it was also the seventh consecutive game that Caitlin Clark missed due to her persistent right groin injury that has given her no respite.

Fortunately, the team has managed to get by without her and is preparing to face Kelsey Plum’s Los Angeles Sparks on the road at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday. Despite this, they will not have CC.

White talks about Clark’s return

Appearing on ESPN’s “NBA Today” program on Monday, Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White discussed Clark’s current recovery status, stating that “It’s day-to-day right now“:

“We’re really just putting no timetable on it. Going through the rehab process, and then we want to reintegrate her from a strength and conditioning standpoint, and then get her back to basketball activities… We’re really slow rolling it, slow playing it this time,” White said.

In addition, the 48-year-old coach referred to CC’s truncated return to the court, as after four games, her condition worsened again. For this reason, Stephanie highlighted the importance and priority they will give to Caitlin’s long-term health, as they want to be cautious and make sure she is “100 percent before we put her back on the floor.“

However, White also made it clear that her return will only strengthen the team and make them “much more dangerous” since Clark also demands a lot on defense:

“She’s constantly seeing multiple players, and she makes the right reads and makes the right plays for our group. So, she’s going to continue to allow us to stretch the floor,” She said on the show, adding, “I think everyone else will get more higher percentage looks because of what she demands on the defensive end of the floor and she brings her own defensive versatility because of her length, her size. So we’ll certainly look different. I think we’ll be that much more dangerous on offense in particular.”

Now, the team will be looking for revenge against the Sparks, who defeated them 89-87 the last time they met on Saturday, July 5, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
