The Indiana Fever snapped their two-game losing streak after defeating the Connecticut Sun 93-99 in overtime at Mohegan Sun Arena.

This victory leaves them with a 19-16 record and returns them to sixth place in the WNBA standings. Meanwhile, the Sun have the worst record in the league at 6-27.

With Caitlin Clark, Sydney Colson, and Aari McDonald out, Kelsey Mitchell was the star of the team, scoring 38 points, dishing out six assists, and grabbing one rebound in 40 minutes of action. Odyssey Sims, re-signed for seven days, also shone with 19 points and seven assists, and Natasha Howard also stood out with 18 points, one assist, and nine rebounds.

White’s analysis

After the game, Stephanie White spoke to the press. The Indiana Fever coach shared her vision and analysis of the game and her team, and their path to the playoffs, stating that they need to focus individually on each game from now on.

In addition, the 48-year-old coach revealed what they are working on to achieve their goal and how they prepared for this game:

This was the most important game for us, Connecticut is our most important opponent. We cannot look too far ahead. We don’t have the luxury of that, and we’ve got to make sure that we’re continuing to stay locked into the moment.

Although this game was not decisive, Indiana knew it had to win. The goal was to add another victory to improve its position in the standings after falling from 6th to 7th place.

In addition, considering that they will face the best team in the league, the Minnesota Lynx, in two consecutive games on Friday the 22nd and Sunday the 24th, the Fever will be put to the test.
