Steph Curry’s Pro-Am Round With Justin Rose Lights Up Social Media

Steph Curry is usually lighting it up from beyond the arc-but on Wednesday, he was swapping jump shots for chip shots at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

The Golden State Warriors star turned heads when he showed up for the Memorial Tournament Pro-Am alongside a familiar crew: his dad Dell, his brother Seth, and PGA Tour veteran Justin Rose. It wasn’t a press event or charity showcase-just a laid-back round among elite company.

The sight of the NBA’s most recognizable shooter on the fairway sparked instant buzz. Fans quickly picked up on Curry’s appearance, with Golfbet posting, “The Currys joined Justin Rose to tee it up in the pro-am @memorialgolf.” From that point, social media took over.

Mid-Round Buzz Turns Digital

“That’s so cool,” wrote one fan. “But who won the skins game though?” added another. Curry himself played into the vibe, joking, “Me, my dad and my brother got a little skins game going.”

Not everyone was thrilled. A few fans questioned the jersey-wearing crowd, with one poster even suggesting “public shaming on 18 green” for showing up in Curry’s Team USA threads. But controversy didn’t hang around long-this was about the game, not the wardrobe.

Curry’s love for golf isn’t new. He’s played in multiple American Century Championships, and even earned a sponsor’s exemption for the Korn Ferry Tour back in 2017. And while he’s not teeing it up competitively this weekend, his presence alone brought a little extra star power to a tournament already stacked with PGA names.

Meanwhile, on the basketball side, Curry’s Warriors bowed out in the second round of the playoffs earlier this month after a tough series against the Timberwolves. A mid-game injury slowed Curry in Game 1, and Golden State never found their rhythm again.

Still, if Wednesday was any indication, Curry isn’t taking the early offseason too hard. He may be out of the playoffs, but he’s definitely still in the game.
