Steph Curry’s negativity foreshadows the worst for the Warriors

The Toronto Raptors defeated Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors 141-27 in overtime, ending Steve Kerr’s team’s three-game winning streak and dropping them to .500 on Sunday.

After this defeat, which dropped their record to 16-16, “The Chef” identified two major problems that need to be resolved as soon as possible if they want to get better results.

Curry does not sugarcoat the situation for the Warriors

Stephen was the game’s leading scorer with 39 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds in 41 minutes of play. However, it wasn’t enough to stop the Raptors.

At the end of the game, Curry identified two weaknesses in the team’s performance: Golden State’s lack of rebounds and 20 turnovers, which Toronto then converted into 35 points.

“Couldn’t get rebounds, and too many turnovers. We didn’t have enough answers down the stretch. So, obviously, credit them. They made enough plays, got to all the loose balls, the offensive rebounds, extra possessions,” Curry began by saying, acknowledging the mistakes made in the postgame press conference.

“The idea of securing possessions and just getting a shot at the rim, we’ve all got to figure out how to do that. Twenty turnovers isn’t going to cut it,” he added.

When it came to rebounds, the Raptors also had the advantage, as Golden State allowed them to attempt more than 10 shots:

“It was tough,” Curry said. “They got 14 extra shot attempts. It’s hard to win those types of games, no matter how well you play.”

Meanwhile, Golden State returns to the court on Monday, December 29, where they will face the Brooklyn Nets (10-19) at the Barclays Center, who are coming off three consecutive wins and seven of their last 10. They will close out 2025 against the Charlotte Hornets on December 31 at the Spectrum Center.

Their start to 2026 is challenging, to say the least, as they will host the Oklahoma City Thunder, the reigning champions and the team they have already lost to twice this season, at Chase Stadium on Monday, January 5. For this reason, these difficulties must be resolved as soon as possible.
