Steph Curry’s evolution goes viral after Warriors’ powerful social media message

The Golden State Warriors had championship dreams last season, and they weren’t shy about chasing them. Led by the ever-reliableStephen Curry, and boosted by a blockbuster trade for Jimmy Butler, the Warriors loaded up for another deep playoff run.

And for a while, it looked like the old magic was back. Curry, Butler, and Draymond Green gave Golden State a dangerous trio that kept opponents guessing. After dispatching the Rockets in Round 1, though, everything changed. Curry went down with an injury in Game 1 of the second round against Minnesota – and with him, the Warriors’ momentum faded.

Now, in the early days of the offseason, the team dropped a message on social media that has people talking. A side-by-side photo of a rookie Steph next to a current-day version was captioned simply: “Year 1 -> Year 16.”

Fans instantly took to the comments to reflect on Curry’s journey. From “GOAT” comments to long tributes about his impact on the game, it was clear the post struck a chord. “4 championships in 16 years is crazy,” one fan wrote. “Greatest shooter of all time, arguably the best PG of all time,” added another.

The Post That Sparked a Thousand Memories

Curry isn’t just one of the most beloved players in the league – he’s become a symbol of transformation. From doubted college kid to global icon, he’s stayed with one team his entire career, a rarity in today’s NBA.

He averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.0 assists last season, even as the Warriors struggled to stay consistent. And despite his injury, Curry’s presence looms large in the organization’s future. ESPN’s Marc Spears noted last week that “there’s no indication Golden State is shifting gears away from Steph anytime soon.”

Some fans are wondering if the post was just nostalgia – or a quiet sign of what’s to come. As The Athletic’s Anthony Slater pointed out, the front office still views Curry as the centerpiece of whatever happens next.

Whatever the case, the message was clear: Golden State hasn’t forgotten who their guy is.
