Steph Curry subtly mocks Nikola Jokic in viral sideline moment during Nuggets loss

Steph Curryis known for his on-court antics and his way of challenging opponents with confidence. Even though he was sidelined with an injury, he remained active from the bench and staying engaged throughout the game. Some fans interpreted one particular moment as a subtle challenge directed at the Denver Nuggets, while others viewed it as harmless spontaneity – simply a reaction to the flow of the game rather than anything aimed personally at Nikola Jokic.

Typically, a matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors would feature a full cast of stars. This time, however, the story was different. Golden State took the floor without Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and Kristaps Porzingis. Missing four key starters, the Warriors were clearly shorthanded. It may have appeared to be an opportunity for Denver, yet Golden State still managed to defend its home court.

A bench moment that changed the conversation

Despite not playing, Curry still became part of the night’s most talked-about sequence. During the game, he accidentally received a pass from Jokic near the sideline. In one smooth motion, Curry gathered himself and nearly launched a shot from the bench. At this point in his career, seeing him pull up from extreme distance feels almost routine, which only added to the reaction online.

The moment quickly went viral. Many viewers described it as a subtle jab – a reminder that for Curry, even a 40-foot attempt feels within range. He came remarkably close to actually releasing the shot, and the sudden decision to pull back made the sequence more dramatic and, for some, more amusing.

Jokic delivers, but Warriors respond

Online jokes followed, and some fans even imagined what a Curry-Jokic partnership might look like in Golden State. Still, the focus remained on the result. The Nuggets suffered a tough defeat, and Jokic acknowledged that the Warriors brought better energy on the night.

Despite Jokics efforts it was not enough to secure the win.

Individually, Jokic delivered an elite performance: 35 points, 20 rebounds, 12 assists, three steals, and two blocks. It was a complete stat line and another reminder of his impact on both ends of the floor. Yet, despite that effort, it was not enough to secure the win.
