The Golden State Warriors survived the first round of the playoffs after beating the Houston Rockets on the road 103-89 on Sunday.
Buddy Hield tied an NBA Game 7 record with nine 3-pointers, bouncing back from a scoreless Game 6 with 33 points, 22 of which came in the first half.
All-Star guard Stephen Curry scored 20 points, ten rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks. The best shooter in the league generated high-quality looks for others, especially Hield, who capitalized big time. Now, the Warriors will face the Minnesota Timberwolves for what promises to be an exciting series.
Curry stuns fans with bizarre sweater and shades
After the crucial game 7 on the road, Curry was interviewed about what it took for the Golden State Warriors to come on top against a very formidable rival such as the Houston Rockets. “It took everything out of us to get this done… To win a game 7 on the road, there’s no better feeling,” Steph said.
What stood out for fans and social media users, though, was the bizarre orange sweater Curry decided to wear, along with some matching shades. “Steph Curry looking like Canon Curry,” an Instagram user commented. “Who’s this guy stylist?” asked somebody else. “You never know what this man is going to weard,” commented somebody else.
Whether he likes it or not, people pay close attention to whatever Curry wears. LeagueFits, an Instagram account that regularly posts photos of stylish outfits worn by NBA players, regularly post pictures of the Golden State guard, and his photos grab the attention of hundreds of people.
The Warriors have a big advantage against the Timberwolves
The Golden State Warriors became the seventh No. 7 seed all-time to reach the Western Conference Semifinals, improving to 8-0 in the first round since 2025. The California team, that has won four championships since 2015, is making their ninth appearance in the Conference semifinals in the last 13 years.
That’s a whole lot of experience and years battling on the postseason, which could be a great advantage over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Warriors are now winners of 20 of the last 21 playoff series vs. Western Conference teams. And Golden State has won 3-of-4 head-to-head regular season matchups with the Twolves.
Minnesota is counting on the fact that Anthony Edwards is on a mission to let the NBA know that he’s the best player in the league. The explosive guard eliminated a Los Angeles Lakers team that included LeBron James and Luka Doncic, so we know what he’s capable of. Guard Jaden McDaniels has showed that he’s a player that can step up to any challenge, and the contribution that Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert can add to the team would be big for the Timberwolves.
