Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors keep showing their determination to make their way into the playoffs as they beat the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night at Crypto Arena.

With the win, their fourth win in a row in a potential first-round playoff preview, the Warriors secure 5th place on the Western Conference, one game behind the Lakers. Both teams are behind the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets.

Curry scored 37 points, Brandin Podziemski added 28, with a career-high eight 3-pointers on a night when Steph was 4 of 11 from long range. The All-Star shooter was coming off a 52-point effort, including 12 3-pointers, at Memphis on Tuesday.

Curry makes an insane trick shot

Even though he struggled during the game, Curry brought his team some key plays that sparked the offensive power of the Warriors. One of those plays came when Stephen had to face guard Gabe Vincent as he was driving to the basket.

Steph showed his usual quickness and as he was getting away from the basket, he shot the ball without looking at the basket. Vincent was all over Curry and he fouled him, as LeBron James and Luka Doncic couldn’t do anything about it as they were paralyzed.

Even though the magic trick was impressive, some social media users were concerned about the contact Curry could receive during the final stretch of the regular season. “Stephen needs to be a little cautious these days, body bumps and foot-tripping by opposing players are becoming intentionally frequent, I know it’s hard to keep distance but just my observation.” wrote a fan.

Lakers effort wasn’t enough to beat the Warriors

All-Star guard LeBron James had 33 points and nine assists for the Los Angeles Lakers.Austin Reaves added 31 points, including nine 3-pointers, Rui Hachimura had 24 points and Luka Doncic had 19 points, missing all six of his 3-point attempts.

For the Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga added 18 points and nine rebounds off the bench for Golden State, which beat the Lakers for the first time in four games this season. The Warriors’ last win in Los Angeles came a year ago. The Warriors closed a six-game trip – tied for longest of the season – with a 4-2 mark.

After the game, James candid about the Warriors‘ recent roster moves. When asked about the addition of Jimmy Butler to the Warriors before the February trade deadline, he didn’t mince words. “I’ve seen them make big moves before,” he said, nodding to the Kevin Durant era.
