Steelers slammed by Terry Bradshaw for failing Kenny Pickett; now it’s up to the Browns to maximize his potential

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Kenny Pickett with the 20th pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but what once seemed like a potential starting quarterback was off the team just two years later.

Former Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw is not happy with how Pickett was treated during his time in Pittsburgh.

Bradshaw criticized the Steelers on the To ‘The Point – Home Services Podcast’, saying they failed to give Pickett the support he needed to succeed.

“A first-rounder, got rid of him after two years, and they’re still looking for a quarterback. They didn’t even do anything to build around him”, he said.

During his time in Pittsburgh, Pickett had a 14-9 record as a starter, throwing 13 touchdowns and an equal number of interceptions. In his second year, the Steelers made the playoffs but were sent home by the Buffalo Bills in the wild card round.

Pickett’s situation with Browns

Now Pickett is in a QB room without a clear starter and could earn an important role if Kevin Stefanski chooses to trust him over Joe Flacco, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel.

For now, it appears Pickett may be the second option, with Browns veterans preferring Joe Flacco as the starter, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

If either of the rookie QBs gets playing time, Pickett could end up as the third or even fourth string quarterback for the Browns and that’s without Deshaun Watson being available to play this season due to injury.
