Steelers Co-owner says Aaron Rodgers is harder to figure out than AI

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made it no secret that they are interested in bringing in four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.

With Russell Wilson and Justin Fields no longer on the roster, Pittsburgh is facing a quarterback dilemma, and Rodgers remains one of the biggest names still on the market.

Steelers trying to solve the Aaron Rodgers puzzle

While head coach Mike Tomlin and team president Art Rooney II have expressed confidence in the team’s efforts to land the veteran quarterback, one Steelers owner added a confusing twist this week.

During a CNBC appearance meant to focus on artificial intelligence, Steelers part-owner Thomas Tull was asked about the team’s interest in Rodgers.

His reply raised eyebrows among NFL fans and analysts alike: “I’m here to talk about AI, and that’s a more complex issue than artificial intelligence,”Tull said, via PennLive.

The remark quickly made the rounds on social media, drawing a wave of reactions suggesting the Rodgers situation is spiraling into unnecessary drama, yet again.

Many NFL fans didn’t hesitate to chime in.

One X user commented, “Aaron Rodgers makes everything complex and dramatic because he loves all the attention on him. If the Steelers know what’s good for them, they’ll leave that alone.”

Others interpreted Tull’s statement as a sign of confusion inside the Steelers’ front office, with another fan posting, “What he’s saying is that it’s a very complicated issue and they really have no clue what’s going on with Rodgers.”

Despite the noise, the Steelers continue to show interest.

Mike Tomlin recently confirmed ongoing conversations with Rodgers, saying they had a productive meeting and had been in “constant contact.”

Rooney also indicated this week that the quarterback remains interested in Pittsburgh.

“He does want to come here, so I do think we may get word soon,”Rooney told Steelers Nation Radio.

Rodgers, for his part, has taken his time making a decision, citing personal matters as the reason for the delay.

“I am trying to be open to everything and not specifically attached to a decision,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show.

“I’m just going through a lot in my personal life.”

Still, the Steelers’ quarterback depth remains thin, with Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson signed in free agency and rookie Will Howard added in the sixth round.

If Rodgers joins, he could offer an immediate upgrade, f, that is, the complexity doesn’t outweigh the potential.
