Sophie Cunningham dances bikini-clad with knee brace after season-ending injury

WNBA star Sophie Cunningham showed the world she’s not letting a season-ending MCL injury slow her down, literally.

A video that surfaced over Labor Day weekend captures the Indiana Fever guard, clad in a bikini and sporting a knee brace, dancing confidently weeks after undergoing surgery.

The clip, set to Renee Rapp’s “I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone,” radiates resilience and fan-favorite energy.

Cunningham’s 2025 season came to a premature end after tearing her right MCL in an August 17 game against the Connecticut Sun – a devastating blow for a Fever team already grappling with injuries to Caitlin Clark, Sydney Colson, and Aari McDonald.

But far from laying low, Cunningham is actively sharing her recovery journey, offering fans both optimism and a reminder that her spirit remains unbroken.

Her comeback is about more than physical healing

The video comes amid a wave of support and friendly banter–especially from teammate Caitlin Clark, who wryly commented “Jeez, Sophie … can’t like this” under one of Cunningham’s daring social posts.

Clearly, Cunningham‘s blend of vulnerability and flair is resonating with fans and teammates alike, not just as a star athlete, but as a personality too.

Despite being sidelined, Cunningham remains engaged, connecting with fans and teammates through her storytelling and bold social updates. Her message is clear: though her knees may be injured, her spirit is not.

As she eyes a full return in 2026, Indiana Fever fans have plenty to look forward to – not only for her performance on the court, but the fearless energy she brings every step of the way.
