Snoop Dogg backs Clippers to clear Lakers’ path to the Finals

As the NBA Playoffs heat up, Lakers superfan Snoop Dogg has made it clear who he’s rooting for, and it’s not just his beloved purple and gold. During an appearance on First Take, Snoop threw his full support behind the LA Clippers, expecting them to take out the top-seeded Denver Nuggets and then knock off the Oklahoma City Thunder. His reason? To smooth the Lakers‘ path to their 18th championship banner.

“Our little brothers are gonna handle that,” Snoop said confidently, referring to the Clippers. According to him, this postseason could finally see LeBron James and Luka Doncic power the Lakers back to the NBA Finals-if the Clippers do their part in the early rounds.

LeBron and Luka finding their rhythm

The Lakers bounced back in Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, evening the series thanks to a standout performance from Luka Doncic (31 points) and a double-double by LeBron James (21 points, 11 rebounds). The duo’s chemistry is starting to click at the right time, fueling hopes for a deep playoff run.

Behind the scenes, the team reportedly took their Game 1 loss seriously, tightening their approach after intense film sessions. The payoff was evident in their 94-85 victory, showing improved defense and offensive cohesion.

Western Conference odds shifting

FanDuel now places the Lakers as the third favorite to win the Western Conference, trailing only the Thunder and Warriors. OKC leads the West odds with a -165 line, while Golden State and the Lakers sit behind at +650 and +850, respectively. The Clippers follow closely with +1000 odds-but if Snoop’s vision plays out, they may play a pivotal supporting role in the Lakers‘ story.

The path forward is tough: after Minnesota, the Lakers would face the winner of the Warriors-Rockets series, before a potential conference final against-yes-the Clippers. If the Lakers survive the gauntlet, the Finals are within reach.

The West just got personal

For Snoop, this postseason is more than basketball, it’s legacy. With LeBron chasing another ring and Doncic proving he belongs on the biggest stage, the Lakers have the star power. But it may be the Clippers, long viewed as LA’s “other team,” who help make it all possible.

Now it’s on both LA teams to prove him right.
