Skip Bayless, known for his fiery takes on First Take and Undisputed, is making a comeback to the spotlight with a fresh platform. He’s teaming up with former NBA standout Gilbert Arenas for a new football-focused show titled “The Arena: Gridiron”.
The show is set to air three times a week. It will be produced by Underdog, features a rotating cast of NFL talent and is built to ignite debate and viewership ahead of the 2025 season.
Where Bayless meets Arenas
Skip Bayless is taking a leap back into debate, and this time, he’s bringing a high-profile co-host across sports lines. Gilbert Arenas, the outspoken former All-Star whose podcast Gil’s Arena has already captured millions on Youtube, is joining the endeavor.
Set to premiere next Tuesday, The Arena: Gridiron will also feature former NFL cornerback Aqib Talib, ex-coach Jay Gruden, and influencer Kinsey Wolanski’s hosting. The show will be produced by Underdog, marking Bayless’s return to televised debate and Arena’s NFL media debut.
Bayless-Arenas, a controversial pairing
While the pairing promises bold analysis, it does come with baggage. Gilbert Arenas is facing federal charges for allegedly running high-stakes illegal poker games, a distraction to some critics.
Skip Bayless, meanwhile, remains embroiled in controversy, including a lawsuit alleging inappropiate conduct. Despite these red flags, the duo appears undeterred, with Bayless declaring he’s “back in the saddle” and emotionally fired up to return to debate.
