Skip Bayless pressures Jerry Jones not to make a big mistake with Brandon Aubrey: “He’s worth what he’s asking for, $10 million”

The future of Brandon Aubrey with the Dallas Cowboys has become an offseason talking point, and one prominent voice in sports media believes the franchise should not hesitate to pay him what he deserves.

Veteran analyst Skip Bayless recently made his stance clear while discussing the situation involving the standout kicker and team owner Jerry Jones.

As negotiations and speculation continue around Aubrey‘s next deal, Bayless argued that the Cowboys should not risk losing one of the most consistent players on their roster.

The team recently placed a second-round restricted free agent tender worth about $5.76 million on Aubrey.

The move allows the Cowboys to match any offer sheet from another franchise or receive a second-round draft pick as compensation if they choose not to.

Bayless urges Cowboys to reward their kicker

During his comments on the situation, Bayless strongly supported the idea that Aubrey deserves a significant contract extension. With reports suggesting the kicker could command a record-setting salary, the analyst insisted the organization should not hesitate.

“He’s worth what he’s asking for, $10 million,” Bayless said.

The outspoken commentator directed his message toward Jones, warning that failing to properly reward Aubrey would be a costly mistake for the franchise.

The debate centers on whether a kicker should receive a deal near that level, but Bayless believes Aubrey’s production justifies the investment.

Aubrey’s production has made him one of the NFL’s best

Since arriving in the league, Aubrey has quickly established himself as one of the most dependable kickers in football. Over his first three NFL seasons with the Cowboys, he converted 112 of 127 field goal attempts, an accuracy rate of 88.2 percent.

His strength from long distance has also stood out. The kicker has gone 35 for 44 on attempts from beyond 50 yards and owns a career long of 65 yards, just short of the league record.

Those performances have brought consistent recognition around the league. Aubrey has earned three Pro Bowl selections and multiple All-Pro honors, establishing himself as one of the most valuable specialists in the NFL.

With the offseason underway, the Cowboys now face an important decision about how far they are willing to go financially to keep their star kicker in Dallas.

For Bayless, the answer is simple. If Jones wants stability in the kicking game for years to come, he believes the team should meet Aubrey’s asking price and avoid letting a proven weapon leave the roster.
