Skip Bayless goes all in on Micah Parsons and Brian Schottenheimer: From superfan to savage critic

A new season is on the horizon for the Dallas Cowboys. Despite more than 30 years without a Super Bowl appearance, the team-loaded with star talent-has fans hoping that this will finally be the year they contend for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Everyone seems hopeful… except Skip Bayless.

Unlike previous offseasons, the Cowboys’ summer has been relatively quiet. With no major signings but a retained core roster, the team hopes to finally complete its mission. However, owner Jerry Jones and his front office still face one pressing issue: Micah Parsons’ contract.

Parsons is entering the final year of his deal with the Cowboys. Though the team holds a 2026 option, the All-Pro linebacker is seeking a lucrative extension now. Surprisingly, Bayless has consistently voiced his disapproval of the negotiation.

Is Skip Bayless done with Micah Parsons?

Once one of Parsons’ biggest champions, Bayless has become one of his most outspoken critics. On Friday’s episode of The Skip Bayless Show, the veteran commentator unleashed fresh criticism, targeting Parsons and Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

“I’m still stuck with Dak. I’m stuck with Jerry. I’m stuck with Micah Parsons missing all of camp just so he can get overpaid. I’m stuck with another head coach that’s probably a puppet. Just try to bounce back and be respectable,” claimed Bayless.

A few years ago, Bayless called Parsons a “game-wrecker.” By last December, however, he’d reversed course and apologized for ever claiming the edge rusher deserved “top money.”

Still betting big on Big D

Despite ripping Jones, Schottenheimer, and Parsons, Bayless still believes Dallas has the edge over the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 season opener-even though no defending champion has lost their first game in the past 13 years.

“The Eagles took some serious free agent losses,” Bayless noted. “I just have a feeling, as loaded as the Eagles still are, it will take them a little while to regain their rhythm and momentum.”

He ended the segment by placing his hopes squarely on his quarterback:

“In Philadelphia, Dak Prescott has been All-World.”
