Without a doubt, having the support of our loved ones is essential to facing life’s challenges. In the world of sports, where pressure and attention fall on athletes, this support is essential.
Simone Biles demonstrated this on her Instagram account, in collaboration with @neftflixqueue. In her recent post revealing her intimate interview for Queue Issue 20, she thanked her parents and family, as well as her husband, Jonathan Owens:
I’m truly grateful for my community and couldn’t have done it without them. You know your parents love you and wish you luck before they even meet you. But seeing them, and my husband, be vulnerable because they’re so nervous about competitions, I think it sheds a different light on their love. Even though you hear it every day, it sounds different when it’s filmed.

Simone has won more than 40 medals between the Olympic Games and World Championships. At every competition, her family was by her side, even when she took time off to take care of her mental health and opened the door to discussing this topic at major competitions.
Since August 2020, she has been in a relationship with Jonathan Owens, a player for the NFL’s Chicago Bears. They announced their engagement on February 14, 2022, and finally married on April 22, 2023. Since then, Ownes never misses an opportunity to show how proud and in love he is with Simone.
An example of this is his recent Instagram story after Simone won the Laureus Award for World Sportswoman of the Year 2025: “And one more time, I’m so proud to call you my wife,” he wrote.
And this support is mutual. Biles has been a loyal attendee at Chicago Bears games, cheering him on from the stands.
Work travel and schedules leave them little free time to enjoy each other’s company, and while this had sparked rumors, it proves they’re still going strong.
