The legend of Oleksandr Usyk continues to grow, but can his career, technique and victories be compared to those of Muhammad Ali? Some boxing fans say that it is impossible to find similarities between the two. However, there are other comments that see certain identical facts between the Ukrainian champion and the legend of Ali.

It should be remembered that the Ukrainian consolidated his legacy after a resounding KO victory against Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their rematch and is now a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, having achieved the same feat at cruiserweight. With this victory, Usyk’s record is 24 wins, 15 of which were by knockout.

The data between Oleksandr Usyk and Muhammad Ali

The Ukrainian boxer’s record includes victories over Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Dubois twice each. He is a master craftsman inside the ring and tears his opponents apart with exceptional takedowns. Usyk’s name ranks high on the list of the greatest heavyweights of all time. Some even think he might be better than the great Muhammad Ali. While it is unfair to make such a comparison, considering that they boxed in different eras, the striking similarity is undeniable.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Ali’s most important victories focus on his ability to be the first boxer to win the world heavyweight title three times, as well as his iconic fights against legendary rivals. Highlights include his triumphs over Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, George Foreman and Leon Spinks. The American boxer left a record of 56 wins (37 KOs) and five losses in 61 fights, more than twice as many fights as the Ukrainian.

What are the similar statistics between Usyk and Ali?

Statistics comparing Usyk and Ali have been circulating on social media, with posts identifying a number of identical traits that both fighters share, including their height, reach, date of birth and more. Both won Olympic gold medals: Usyk won the London 2012 gold medal and Ali the 1960 gold medal. Both are undefeated on three occasions; they are 1.90m tall and reach 220cm. In addition, both share the same date of birth.Muhammad Ali is widely regarded as the greatest in boxing, and his influence has transcended beyond the ring. Without making comparisons, it is also fair to say that Usyk has influenced boxers around the world with his spectacular ring prowess. As for the Ukrainian, he is already 38 years old and perhaps does not have much time left. He has already done it all in the ring, but he continues to raise the bar. He refused to comment on his future after Dubois’ victory and claimed that it is time to enjoy a well-deserved rest.
