Shohei Ohtani’s World Series home run ball hits insane price-and it’s still rising

Shohei Ohtani is no longer just a force at the plate and on the mound-he’s now dominating the auction world too. After redefining modern baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar is shaking up the collectibles market, as shown by the latest item tied to his historic postseason run.

The recent World Series between the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays delivered nonstop excitement, spectacular plays, and unforgettable moments. At the center of it all was Ohtani.

Across seven games, the Dodgers’ two-way phenom logged 27 at-bats, collecting nine hits, three home runs, six runs scored, and five RBIs.

But it was Game 3 where Ohtani truly shifted the momentum for Los Angeles, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs, five walks, and two home runs. Now, the ball from his second homer in that game has hit the auction block-and its price is climbing fast.

Shohei also dominates the auction world

This is the first of Ohtani’s three World Series homerun balls to be offered at auction. SCP Auctions is handling the bidding, and the ball has already reached $130,000-with a full week remaining.

Ohtani’s second home run in Game 3 tied the score in the seventh inning of a matchup that ultimately stretched to 18 innings before the Dodgers secured a 6-5 victory.

The ball from his first home run of the series, in Game 1, was caught by a fan who has yet to come forward. Meanwhile, the ball from his third home run was retrieved by the Dodgers’ staff.

Ohtani is no stranger to auction records

Despite the impressive price tag, this ball is nowhere near Ohtani’s personal auction record.

Just a year ago, the ball from his 50th career home run-making him the only player ever to reach 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases-sold for nearly $4.4 million.

Ohtani’s Game 3 home run ball is listed as Lot No. 1 in SCP Auctions’ 2025 World Series Spotlight. The remaining six items in the collection belong to Miguel Rojas, including his Game 7 jersey, glove, and cleats.
