Shohei Ohtani leads Dave Roberts’ perfect plan with the Dodgers to repeat the World Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue their steady march toward another World Series run, powered by a dominant starting rotation that has been nearly untouchable this postseason. Their aces have turned into a strikeout machine, overwhelming every opponent in their path.

Much of the Dodgers’ early playoff success is owed to the starting pitchers handpicked by manager Dave Roberts for the four games played so far.

Ohtani, Yamamoto, and Snell Are Untouchable

The numbers speak for themselves – during their current four-game winning streak, the Dodgers have allowed only five runs. What truly stands out, however, is the staggering number of strikeouts piled up by Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Blake Snell, who has already made two starts this postseason.

This marks the first time in Dodgers postseason history that their starting pitchers have recorded at least nine strikeouts in four consecutive games:

Dodger Starters This Postseason:

  • Wild Card Game 1 – Snell: 9 Ks
  • Wild Card Game 2 – Yamamoto: 9 Ks
  • NLDS Game 1 – Ohtani: 9 Ks
  • NLDS Game 2 – Snell: 9 Ks

This is fantastic news for Dave Roberts, who knows his starting rotation is anything but a concern. The real challenges arise when the bullpen takes over – a unit that has underperformed since the regular season.

The Dodgers won their second game in Philadelphia, putting the Phillies on the ropes. For Philadelphia to reach the National League Championship Series (NLCS), they’ll have to win every remaining game in this Divisional Series.

Now, as the series shifts to Los Angeles, Dave Roberts and his unstoppable rotation will look to finish the job – aiming for a sweep and a ticket to the National League Championship Series.
