Shilo Sanders has won the Buccaneers fans over as they demand Tampa Bay to start him

He may have entered the NFL without hearing his name called on draft night, but Shilo Sanders is quickly rewriting that story in Tampa Bay. The undrafted rookie safety has become one of the surprise standouts at Buccaneers training camp, and now fans aren’t just cheering him on, they’re chanting his name and demanding the team give him a real shot at the starting lineup.

It all started with a highlight reel moment during camp session. Sanders made a textbook pass breakup that lit up the crowd. The energy shifted. People on the sideline started yelling his name. Sanders responded by raising his arms to the crowd and the fans ate it up. That kind of reaction isn’t normal for a rookie, much less one who came in undrafted. But then again, Shilo Sanders isn’t your average rookie.

Sanders is earning respect in Tampa Bay

What’s making this rise even more special is how fast it’s happening. Most undrafted players are quietly grinding, just hoping to get noticed. But Shilo? He’s already a fan favorite, and it’s not just because of his last name although being the son of Coach Prime, Deion Sanders, certainly brings extra attention. It’s because he’s earning respect on the field, play by play, snap by snap.

But as the love from fans grows, so does the pressure. NFL teamshave to trim rosters from 90 to 53 players by August 27, and those decisions don’t always favor the fan favorites. For Shilo, every moment counts. The good news? It’s not just the fans taking notice. Head coach Todd Bowles praised Sanders after the practice, saying he’s “picking up the playbook real well” and called the pass breakup “a good PBU.”

That kind of coach approval combined with momentum and fan support could be exactly what Shilo needs to secure a spot. He’s showing not only talent but also football IQ and the kind of energy that can shift a locker room. He’s got the swagger, the focus, and clearly, the heart.

Whether or not he cracks the final 53-man roster, Shilo Sanders has already won something more rare: the hearts of Buccaneers fans. And in a sport where passion matters just as much as stats, that could be the push that keeps his NFL dream alive. For now, all eyes are on Tampa because the chants are only getting louder.
