Shedeur Sanders’ work with the media is more impressive to Rich Eisen than his on-field performances

Although Shedeur Sanders‘ NFL career is in its very early stages, the 23-year-old has done everything right so far. Coming in as a fifth round rookie, Sanders kept relatively quiet and got to work, waiting for the chips to fall in his favor. They finally did in Week 11. After three starts, Sanders continues to do exactly what is needed and was expected of him.

He won his first start in the NFL, then followed it up two games later with an offensive explosion, putting up 393 total yards and four touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans. Yet despite his incredible performance, the media conversation following the game revolved around Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski‘s decision to pull Sanders off the field for a crucial two-point conversion.

Shedeur Sanders is saying all of the right things despite tough media questions

Naturally, Sanders was asked about the decision in his postgame press conference, but he once again refused to place any blame on Stefanski.

“I wish I would always have the ball in my hands, but that’s not what football is. In any situation, of course you want to, but I know we practice something and we execute it in practice and we just didn’t seem to this day. I would never go against what the call was.“

It was another very politically correct response from Sanders, who has learned to avoid saying things that could land him in hot water. Sanders’ incresingly competent ability to deal with tough media questions has really impressed media personality Rich Eisen, in particular.

Sanders has never been afraid to speak his mind. A couple of times earlier this season, he was criticized for his actions. He clearly learned his lesson, and it’s translating both on and off the field.
