The Rookie Mini-Camp is underway! Young talents arrive hungry for glory, ready to sweat, compete, and earn a spot on the roster.
The 2025 Draft surprised everyone with the fall of Shedeur Sanders to the fifth round, selected by the Browns with the 144th pick, despite being projected as a top 10 pick. With Dillon Gabriel already selected, the team enters the preseason with four quarterbacks while Deshaun Watson recovers from injury.
The battle for the starting job will be intense, with Sanders ready to prove that his decline was a mistake and that he is ready to silence his haters.
Unfortunately for Shedeur Sanders, things did not go as he had hoped, so much so that one of his first passes was intercepted and terrible. Cameras caught the moment and the video went viral on social media.
Of course, it would be premature and unfair to judge based on a single pass, but a player as controversial as Sanders is already generating excitement among fans despite an inaccurate first throw in the preseason.
Shedeur ready to silence critics
Shedeur Sanders went from being a top draft pick to falling in the draft after criticism of his performance in interviews during the combine. Yet his future remains open, with examples like Brady, Montana and Warner proving that a late selection does not prevent a legendary career.
This is a great opportunity for him to not only silence his critics, but to prove that they were wrong to doubt him. First and foremost, he has to earn a spot in this highly coveted and competitive position.
That won’t be easy. He’ll have to compete with fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel and veteran Joe Flacco, but little by little, he can earn his spot. He can learn a lot from Flacco, which should be his goal at 23 years old.
Once the nerves settle, he’ll loosen up and show a better version of himself during rookie minicamp.
