Shedeur Sanders steals the headlines every time Cleveland Brown gives new updates on who their next QB1 will be. This time, however, the reason is different.
His excessive catcalling has led him to place himself at the center of criticism. You probably remember the 23-year-old QB sporting a huge diamond chain during the Draft and showing off a briefcase with a million dollars in cash. Surely some of those bills paid for the new, customized olive green Rolls-Royce Phantom, worth $500,000.
Almost belittling his own signing bonus of $447,380 in guarantees on the $4.6 million contract with Cleveland Browns, Shedeur spent like it was raining bills. And the fans weren’t quiet.
After Dov Kleiman shared a video on X of Sanders’ luxury car claiming it was a “well-deserved” and “inspirational” gift, users responded to the video with obvious criticism of the quarterback:
“So rather than hitting the field and studying the playbook + film, he’s spending his entire first year salary on a car? No wonder no GM wanted this kid”, said one of them, “This is why he fell to the 5th round’, “That’s how u go broke,” opined other users.
Although part of his money probably comes from sponsorships and not just his contract with the Browns, this did not calm the fury of fans, who even asked, “I wonder what he’ll do with it once the Browns cut him?”
Sanders’ extravagance
Shedeur also owns a Lamborghini Urus worth between $240,000 and $275,000, a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 valued at up to $200,000, a $100,000 Tesla Cybertruck, a 2022 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat worth between $80,000 and $100,000, and a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray between $60,000 and $80,000.
In addition, two years ago, he didn’t even shake his pulse or wallet to get his hands on a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, shelling out $300,000 at the time. That’s not to mention the “freebies” he offered.
His brother, Shilo Sanders, was awarded a Tesla Cybertruck and his former teammate Jordan Seaton was not left out as he received a $200,000 Mercedes-Maybach in December of last year as a reward from Sanders for his performance. He certainly spares no expense when it comes to gifts for others and himself.
