Shedeur Sanders shuts down critics again with bold statement that set social media on fire

There’s no doubt that Shedeur Sanders is a media personality-not someone who just became one upon entering the NFL. From practically the day he was born, he’s been in the spotlight. As the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, he inherited not just the fame but also the flair for controversy, with his father closely guiding his career every step of the way.

Deion Sanders developed Shedeur as his head coach at Jackson State, and later at Colorado Buffaloes, before Shedeur entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick in the recent Draft. That day was tough for him; after being projected as a first-round selection, five quarterbacks were chosen before the Browns picked him.

From there, the journey was anything but smooth. Leading up to the Draft, Shedeur was said to want immediate starting duties. However, he began the preseason as Cleveland’s fourth-string quarterback and didn’t get the chance to start until Week 11, following a concussion to Dillon Gabriel in Week 10.

Shedeur Sanders makes the Pro Bowl

The Browns quarterback started seven games-the final stretch of the regular season. While his performance wasn’t spectacular, the offense showed improvement, even if it gradually unraveled over the games. He faced tough opponents such as the Bills, Steelers, Bengals, and 49ers, and despite the challenges, he showed flashes of his potential.

With Drake Maye’s withdrawal from the Pro Bowl, Shedeur Sanders received the call, sharing his reaction:

“I was surprised. It wasn’t like I was sitting there and expecting [to make the Pro Bowl]. I’m not going to lie, a lot of times I’m taking it day by day. Taking it day by day, having that method. Whatever comes out of that, comes out of that. But if you told me that this was going to happen at the beginning of the year, I couldn’t say that was going to happen. It’s amazing. I just come here, and I’m like, ‘I really get to be around these great guys and coaches.’ It’s surreal.”

In the seven games he started, Shedeur finished with a 3-4 record, though two of those wins came largely thanks to Cleveland’s top-tier defense. He threw seven touchdown passes against ten interceptions, totaling 1,400 yards-and it’s worth noting he never had a chance to practice with the first team until being named starter in Week 11.

Looking ahead, Shedeur Sanders aims to become the Browns’ starting quarterback in 2026. However, there’s still a long way to go, and new head coach Todd Monken emphasized that the starting job for next season has yet to be decided.
