It’s no secret that one of Shedeur Sanders‘ strengths is his self-confidence, something he made clear during his college football days at Colorado. But now, in the NFL-a different beast altogether-his success in the league will depend on more than just this trait.

The son of Deion Sanders, who fell to the fifth round of the NFL Draft, now has to prove he’s capable and that the teams that passed on him made a mistake, all while competing for the starting quarterback position. Recently, he sent an indirect message ahead of training camp.

Shedeur Sanders’ cryptic social media message

The battle to become the Cleveland Browns‘ starting quarterback is entering a decisive phase. Before this, Shedeur posted a short but, for many, powerful message.

“Time will tell,” Sanders wrote on his X account.

The young player has been in the spotlight throughout the preseason, not only for the talent he’s shown during his workouts with the Browns but also because he was detained for driving over the speed limit.

Beyond these off-field issues, he’s left a positive impression on the field. He was the first of the rookies to report to the Browns, but patience will be needed as he adapts to the demanding nature of NFL play.

In addition to Shedeur, the Browns also drafted Dillon Gabriel from the Oregon Ducks, but the competition extends to veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco.

While there’s no final verdict yet on who will be the starting quarterback for Week 1 of the NFL, hope remains alive for Shedeur Sanders.
