Shedeur Sanders sends bold message to NFL teams

Shedeur Sanders has never been one to shy away from confidence, and his latest remarks at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine only reinforced his self-belief.

Addressing the media, the Colorado quarterback made one thing clear-he isn’t just looking to play in the NFL; he’s looking to change the game.

Sanders, the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, spoke with poise and swagger during his 13-minute session. He repeatedly used the word “Legendary”, not just as a reference to his personal brand, but as a vision for his professional career.

“We went from Jackson State to Colorado and changed two programs back-to-back,” Sanders stated Friday. “You don’t think I could come to an NFL franchise and change a program again? It’s history. It’s always going to repeat itself.”

For teams like the New York Giants and New York Jets, both searching for a future franchise quarterback, Sanders’ words serve as a direct pitch. The Jets are desperate to end their 14-year playoff drought, the longest active streak in the NFL.

Meanwhile, the Giants’ front office, led by Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll, is under pressure to find a long-term solution at quarterback as they enter a crucial fourth season.

A Quarterback with Confidence and Vision

Dressed in a flashy necklace and exuding charisma, Sanders didn’t just talk about his skills-he challenged teams to recognize his impact.

“If you’re not trying to change the franchise or the culture, don’t get me,” he said. “If you have the franchise traits, then why wouldn’t a franchise pick me? It’s like a cheat code.”

His confidence extended beyond just his performance on the field. Sanders also dismissed any outside criticism, pointing out that skepticism has always surrounded his family.

“You think I’m worried about what critics say?” he asked, flashing a grin. “You know who my dad is? They hated on him, too. Without people hating, it’s not normal for us.”

How Does He Stack Up Against Other Quarterback Prospects?

While Sanders is undeniably one of the most high-profile quarterbacks in the 2025 draft class, he isn’t the only one generating buzz.

Miami’s Cam Ward is another standout signal-caller, and many scouts currently rank Ward ahead of Sanders in their evaluations.

With quarterback-needy teams like the Giants, Jets, and several others weighing their options, Sanders has made his case clear: he’s not just another draft pick-he’s a game-changer.

Whether teams buy into that vision remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Shedeur Sanders is ready to prove that he belongs at the highest level.
