Shedeur Sanders is already respected by the Cleveland Browns’ defense; the quarterback continues to take steps forward

There’s no doubt that quarterback Shedeur Sanders has shown promising things at the Cleveland Browns’ training camp. The quarterback has had to prove his value to earn respect and, above all, a spot on the team led by Kevin Stefanski, in a battle that still has many chapters ahead.

It’s worth remembering that Shedeur Sanders was considered a first-round prospect after his final year at the University of Colorado. The son of Deion Sanders had an exceptional year with 4,134 yards, 37 touchdown passes, and 10 interceptions. He also won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (best senior college QB) and was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.

Despite that, NFL teams practically passed on Shedeur Sanders. From being seen as a future star of the league, he ended up being selected in the fifth round and is now in a tough competition with three other quarterbacks: Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.

Shedeur is respected by the Cleveland Browns’ defense

Shedeur Sanders has shown a strong work ethic during his time with the Cleveland Browns, even though he hasn’t yet had the chance to practice with the first team. The quarterback has remained humble, despite everything that’s been said about him, and he’s demonstrated a professional attitude.

This week on Good Morning Football on NFL Network, starting cornerback Greg Newsome had nothing but praise for Shedeur Sanders after working with him during recent weeks with the Browns.

“He’s been incredible, I’d say he’s like a sponge,” Newsome said. “It’s crazy that someone so young and with so much notoriety can handle the media and things like that. I think his father really taught him how to be that person under the spotlight and understand what comes with it. And I think he’s done an amazing job learning and improving every day.”

The Cleveland Browns’ camp has been entirely polarized by the topic of Shedeur Sanders, and the quarterback is not oblivious to it. The 23-year-old is used to growing up under the spotlight, being the son of the legendary Hall of Famer, Deion Sanders.
