Quarterback Shedeur Sanders couldn’t cap off his college football career with a victory, as the Colorado Buffaloes were defeated by the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday night.
Despite a promising 9-3 season, the Buffaloes fell short, with their hopes of a bowl win dashed in a 36-14 loss.
Following the game, Sanders, visibly disappointed, was caught on camera as he made his way off the field. A video posted by X user Sko Buffs Sports shows the 22-year-old quarterback walking towards the tunnel with a towel draped over his head, attempting to hide his emotions.

His body language spoke volumes-clearly, the defeat weighed heavily on him, marking an unfortunate end to his college career.
A rough start dooms the Buffaloes
The Buffaloes struggled right from the beginning of the game. After a rough first half in which they fell behind 20-0, the team was unable to recover. Despite Sanders‘ best efforts in the second half, which included two passing touchdowns, the Colorado offense failed to gain enough momentum to mount a comeback. In addition to his touchdowns, Sanders also threw two interceptions, further complicating the Buffaloes‘ chances at victory.
Sanders‘ performance, while showing flashes of the talent that made him a standout throughout the season, couldn’t overcome the team’s struggles in the first half. The loss was particularly disheartening, given the high expectations following a strong regular season.
With his college career officially over, Sanders is now poised to turn his attention to the NFL. He is widely expected to be one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, with some projections placing him as high as No. 1 overall.
“My sons, man, that’s tough,” Colorado head coach Deion Sanders said.
“That’s tough to know that…that’s it. That walk won’t happen again. That’s tough. We’ve been doing this for a long time. And you recollect just the times in youth league and seeing them lay out uniforms in my closet. You know, getting ready for the next game…”
