Shedeur Sanders has already been warned by the Baltimore Ravens, division rivals of the Cleveland Browns, and they want to face him immediately

More than two weeks have passed since the NFL Draft, and the buzz surrounding Shedeur Sanders continues. Sanders was selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns in a surprising fall, considering he had previously been projected as a first-round pick.

Had he been chosen in the first round, there would have been a strong chance of seeing him start immediately for an NFL team. But after being taken with the 144th overall pick, he now has to fight just to make the Browns’ final roster. He will also be competing with Deshaun Watson (injured), Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, and Dillon Gabriel for the starting quarterback role.

LaJohntay Wester, drafted by the Ravens, wants Shedeur to start

In the sixth round, the Baltimore Ravens selected LaJohntay Wester, a wide receiver from the University of Colorado and former teammate of Shedeur Sanders in the NCAA. Wester was happy to be drafted but clearly upset that Sanders dropped all the way to the third day of the draft.

Wester stated that his friend Shedeur should have been selected much earlier and emphasized that Sanders’ performance will make many teams regret passing on him multiple times.

“I was disappointed they did that to him,” said Wester, according to the Ravens’ official website. “I know Shedeur is going to get in the lab. He’s going to work hard and win that spot in Cleveland.”

Wester is remembered for catching a Hail Mary pass from Sanders against Baylor University last season and cherishes that moment.

“At the end of the day, in my eyes, it was just another play,” said Wester. “To other people, it was a game-changing play. And they probably never imagined a guy like me, a small guy, could make such an important play. But for me, it’s nothing new. I have a lot of confidence in my game.”

Now, Wester will have to follow the same path as Shedeur Sanders. Just as Sanders has to fight not only for the starting job but for a spot on the Browns’ roster, Wester will have to do the same with the Baltimore Ravens.
