Shedeur Sanders has balled out during his first NFL training camp with the Cleveland Browns, with the opportunity to compete for the starting job as a quarterback.

The franchise have been looking desperately for a leader that can take them to a winning mentality on a consistent basis.

The Browns have the third worst ods to win Super Bowl LX, just above the Tennessee Titans – who drafted Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick overall – and the New Orleans Saints – who drafted Tyler Shough and signed Hunter Dekkers, as well as having Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener – .

Shedeur Sanders fires a perfect deep ball

With quarterback Kenny Pickett sidelined due to a hamstring injury – with no clear timeline for his return -, Shedeur Sanders got his shot to shine at the Cleveland Browns training camp, and the former Colorado Buffaloes standout didn’t take the chance by granted.

Running with the second unit, Shedeur dropped a perfectly placed deep ball to wide receiver Gage Larvadain over tight coverage from cornerback Cameron Mitchell, drawing praise from reporters and fans alike. That’s the kind of plays they would love to see during the regular season.

And throws like this could give the rookie a serious shot at competing for the starting job. The battle is on in Cleveland, and it’s going to be an exicting one with one question in mind: who’s going to be QB No. 1 for Week 1, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett or Shedeur Sanders?

Quarterback’s the focal point for the Browns

As training camp has gone on, the emphasis on testing the Cleveland Browns quarterbacks has been clear as team drills have become the main chunk of practice. On Day 4, rookie sensation Shedeur Sanders flourished with his impressive skills.

Sanders found his groove, getting his first touchdown of training camp on a play where he held tight in the pocket and lofted a ball inside the five for wide receiver Luke Floriea, who caught the pass and proceeded to score.

During the red zone period, he homed in, throwing two touchdowns. His first was to wide receivers Diontae Johnson in the back of the end zone, nearly sandwiched between two defenders. His second came across the middle to wide out Cade McDonald, giving Sanders three scores on the day.
