Shedeur Sanders didn’t stay silent and sent a strong message to Kevin Stefanski, head coach of the Cleveland Browns

For the second consecutive year, the Cleveland Browns endured another forgettable season, although this one ended on a positive note thanks to strong defensive performances that were enough to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers led by Aaron Rodgers and the Cincinnati Bengals quarterbacked by Joe Burrow. With these results, everything suggests that Kevin Stefanski will remain as the team’s head coach.

The season finale could not have been better for the Browns. The win over the Cincinnati Bengals was highlighted by Myles Garrett’s 23rd sack of the season, which broke the all-time record previously held by legend Lawrence Taylor and shared with current Pittsburgh Steelers player T.J. Watt. To make it even more impressive, it came against one of the best quarterbacks in the league, Joe Burrow.

Last week, the Cleveland Browns’ defense held the Steelers to just 6 points, while allowing only 18 points to the Bengals. Additionally, Devin Bush intercepted Joe Burrow and returned the ball nearly 100 yards for a touchdown. This unit continues to show significant talent and will serve as the foundation for next season.

Shedeur Sanders left an emotional message for Kevin Stefanski

The truth is that the relationship between Shedeur Sanders and Kevin Stefanski did not start off well. The Browns’ current quarterback was the team’s last option and did not get his chance until Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion in Week 10. However, over time, the situation has gradually improved, and it appears that both will remain together next season, although Sanders’ status as the starter is not guaranteed.

What is clear is that despite everything that has been said about Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback always showed professionalism and patience despite the role he was given. After the game, he shared a message about his head coach: “He’s been real tough, real tough. It’s good, and I think I grew and learned a lot from him. This week we had a conversation just about things, and I feel like we grew to understand each other,” said the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback.

It is worth remembering that Shedeur Sanders was once considered a first-round talent, but for various reasons ended up being selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns. He even started as the team’s fourth quarterback before eventually earning the starting role.

There is no doubt that Shedeur Sanders has earned the opportunity to take first-team reps from day one of the preseason with the Cleveland Browns. However, he will now have to compete with Deshaun Watson. It will be interesting to see how things unfold, but all signs suggest that Cleveland will not use a high draft pick to select a quarterback.
