Shedeur Sanders could secure his place with the Browns if he follows these three steps

Ahead of a new NFL season, none of the uncertainties surrounding the teams attract as much attention as the battle for the starting position between the four Cleveland Browns quarterbacks.

After the 2025 NFL Draft, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders joined the battle between Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, bringing with them all the controversy.

The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback arrived in Cleveland with a reputation and renown that preceded him, but also to compete for his place on the team. And the field seems wide open, but only one will be named QB1.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported that there is a possibility that we may have some clarity on the uncertainty very soon. With joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles scheduled for August 13 and 14, Kevin Stefanski is likely to reveal where the team is leaning, if he doesn’t make it explicit before then.

Meanwhile, on July 18, rookies reported to training camp ahead of the upcoming season, and Flacco and Pickett are expected to report on Tuesday, July 22. That’s when the real battle will begin.

However, one analyst advised Sanders to make sure he follows three steps to secure his place on the Browns and, perhaps, his starting position.

The advice Shedeur received

Zac Jackson of The Athletic has revealed that Coach Prime’s son could achieve great results and stay with the Browns if he fulfills three key points:

Sanders will have to show he’s capable of commanding the huddle, mastering the playbook, and avoiding some of the mistakes against pressure that evaluators didn’t like from his college tape.

The truth is that Sanders finished eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting and produced 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns. In addition, he completed 74% of his passes in his senior year at Colorado. However, he has not only attracted attention on the field, but also off it. His scandal with speeding tickets, for example, has led him to make headlines for non-sporting reasons, which has not benefited his image.

Meanwhile, if Shedeur manages to impress the Browns with his conduct and performance as a quarterback, he could be considered for QB1, be present on the active roster, or be on the practice squad. It will certainly be interesting to see how this story unfolds.
