Shannon Sharpe Net Worth: How much money does the former NFL player turned sports media personality have?

Shannon Sharpe, a name that echoes through NFL history and sports media, has built quite the fortune since hanging up his cleats. From his days dominating the gridiron with the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens to his current gig as a fiery voice on ESPN’s First Take, Sharpe’s journey to wealth is a mix of sweat, strategy, and a whole lot of charisma. So, how much dough does this Hall of Famer really have in his pocket?

Back in his NFL prime, Sharpe was a force-three Super Bowl rings, eight Pro Bowls, and a record-setting 10,060 receiving yards as a tight end. Over 14 seasons, he raked in roughly $22.3 million in salary alone, per Spotrac.

“My life for 14 years in the National Football League was football,” he said in his 2011 Hall of Fame speech. That grind paid off-big contracts like his four-year, $13.8 million deal with the Ravens in 2000 and a seven-year, $16 million return to the Broncos in 2002 padded his bank account nicely. But the field was just the start.

Once he swapped jerseys for mics, Sharpe’s earnings kicked into overdrive. His media career took off with CBS Sports’ The NFL Today in 2004, and by 2016, he was co-hosting Skip and Shannon: Undisputed on Fox Sports 1, reportedly pulling in $3 million a year, according to Sportskeeda. After leaving in 2023, he slid into ESPN’s First Take with a multi-year deal in June 2024, expanding his role and his paycheck. “I ate, drank, slept, and thought football,” he once reflected.

Sharpe’s Net Worth: From football star to media mogul

As of 2025, the former tight end turned TV personality boasts a net worth of around $14 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Sharpe’s not just living off TV gigs, though. His podcast Club Shay Shay, a 2025 NAACP Image Award winner, and Nightcap with Chad Johnson are raking in ad revenue and sponsorships-think Viking Waffles and his Le Portier Cognac line.

Toss in endorsements with Nike, Pepsi, and Pizza Hut from his playing days, and you’ve got a diversified money machine. Posts on X marvel at his hustle, with fans noting, “Sharpe’s turned touchdowns into TV gold.” From a humble start in Glennville, Georgia, to a $14 million empire, Sharpe’s proving he’s as clutch with a mic as he was with a football.
