The NBA has unveiled its 2024-25 Kia All-NBA Team selections, highlighting the league’s most outstanding performers of the season. Leading the First Team are Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Oklahoma City Thunder guard and newly crowned MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander,Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic,Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum. These players received top honors from a global media panel, with Antetokounmpo, Gilgeous-Alexander, Joki, and Tatum earning unanimous First Team selections.

For Antetokounmpo, this marks his seventh consecutive First Team appearance, while Gilgeous-Alexander secures his third straight. Joki continues his dominance, earning his second consecutive First Team nod and fifth overall. Meanwhile, Tatum extends his streak to four, solidifying himself as a mainstay in elite company. Mitchell, on the other hand, earns his first-ever First Team selection after previously making the Second Team in the 2022-23 season.

The Second Team features notable stars, including New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, and Cavaliers forward-center Evan Mobley. James continues to rewrite history, earning his 21st All-NBA selection-an unprecedented achievement that underscores his longevity and greatness. Mobley, who was named the 2024-25 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, makes his All-NBA debut as Cleveland’s rising star.

A lot of talent on the list

Among the Third Team honorees are Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham, Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, LA Clippers guard James Harden, Knicks center-forward Karl-Anthony Towns, and Thunder guard-forward Jalen Williams. Cunningham and Williams earn their first career All-NBA selections, marking a milestone in their young careers.

Haliburton makes his second straight Third Team appearance, further cementing his status as a rising star. Harden, a former league MVP, returns to the All-NBA conversation for the first time since 2019-20, while Towns earns his third Third Team selection. The voting process did not consider player positions, allowing voters to assess each candidate solely on performance.

Players received five points for each First Team vote, three points for Second Team votes, and one point for Third Team votes. The balloting was conducted by a global media panel and independently tabulated by Ernst & Young LLP. As the NBA playoffs intensify, these All-NBA selections reflect the league’s evolving hierarchy of elite talent. The recognition further fuels debates about individual performances and long-term legacies, setting the stage for another thrilling chapter in NBA history.
