Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder mischievously sabotage reporter during serious interview

During the postgame interview, sideline reporter Nick Gallo, a familiar face for Thunder fans, was once again the target of the team’s playful antics. As Gallo interviewed Gilgeous-Alexander, teammates Jalen Williams, Luguentz Dort, Aaron Wiggins, and Jaylin Williams began stacking towels on Gallo’s shoulders and head . Gallo maintained his professionalism throughout, even as the players continued their prank.

This lighthearted moment is part of a series of pranks the Thunder players have played on Gallo, showcasing the strong camaraderie within the team. In a previous instance, after a playoff win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Jalen Williams slipped a bag of peanut M&Ms into Gallo’s suit pocket during an interview with Chet Holmgren, turning it into a playful moment that sparked laughter and viral reactions online.

Nick Gallo tries to stay professional as chaos unfolds behind him

What happens between Nick Gallo and the Thunder players isn’t something you see on every NBA team. Not every reporter builds that kind of connection with the locker room, and not every group of players feels comfortable crossing that line between professionalism and playful banter.

But in Oklahoma City, they’ve created something unique: a real sense of camaraderie. It’s a dynamic that’s been built over time, where even the pranks, though they might seem over the top, come from a place of mutual respect. Gallo gets it. He knows it’s part of the postgame ritual now, part of what makes this team special. Sometimes, you just have to roll with it, laugh at yourself, and recognize that you’re part of something bigger.

After the Oklahoma City Thunder’s commanding 114-88 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 31 points, including 20 in the second half . Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren contributed with 19 and 15 points, respectively. The Thunder outscored the Timberwolves 70-40 in the second half, capitalizing on 17 forced turnovers that led to 31 points.

The Thunder’s youthful energy and team chemistry have been evident both on and off the court. Their dominant performance in Game 1 sets a strong tone for the series, with Game 2 scheduled to be held in Oklahoma City on May 22.
