Serious problem between Micah Parsons and Jerry Jones; The Dallas Cowboys defensive star is upset and there could be consequences

Many storylines during this offseason have come to an end, but one remains unresolved and is making Dallas Cowboys fans nervous – the case of Micah Parsons, the team’s defensive star and one of the best in the league. Parsons is looking to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

For example, in recent months, players like Myles Garrett (Cleveland Browns defensive end), Ja’Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver), and most recently T.J. Watt (Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker) have all signed new contracts, each earning over $40 million per year. Watt currently leads with $41 million annually, so Parsons wants even more than that.

So far, Micah Parsons has acted professionally and showed up to the Cowboys’ OTAs and mandatory minicamp. Despite his frustration over the lack of a new contract, he is the team leader and feels the need to set an example for his teammates – especially the rookies. However, the contract situation is beginning to cause tension.

Jerry Jones is unbothered by the new contract

During Monday’s press conference, new Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed that he doesn’t know whether Micah Parsons will report to the start of training camp – potentially as a way to pressure Jerry Jones and company into giving him a new deal.

The situation has started to escalate. Micah Parsons himself said that the Cowboys have made the process “more complicated,” which could lead to problems for both sides. Nonetheless, Jerry Jones made it clear that he is not concerned at all.

“I’m not worried in the slightest about having pending contract matters around here,” said Jerry Jones.

What’s certain is that Micah Parsons’ value is increasing by the day. Currently, it’s being reported that he could be seeking around $45 million annually – a price tag for a player who has racked up 52.5 sacks in four seasons, multiple Pro Bowl appearances, and several Defensive Player of the Year nominations.
