Serena Williams starts new therapy to improve her health but has to give up early due to ‘frostbite’

Serena Williams is already a sports legend. In her career as a tennis player, she conquered great titles and the affection of her fans. Now that she has decided to hang up her racket, Serena is looking for new experiences.

The tennis icon knows that her health and the recovery of her body is the most important thing. It is for this reason that she has decided to venture more into this world and try new alternatives.

On this occasion, Williams decided to give cryotherapy a try, a physiotherapeutic procedure that uses gas cooled to -130 °C and, in contact with the skin, is used to reduce muscle inflammation and contribute to accelerate the recovery process of injuries after an intense training session. And, of course, she wasn’t going to leave her fans out of this new adventure.

Serena’s “frozen” experience

Serena shared on her official Instagram account two photos of her next to the cryo-chamber and inside it, but informed her fans that she was unable to finish a session and only lasted just under three minutes inside.

Wearing white gloves, a black top and brown sports shorts, a black cap and chinstrap for protection, her expressions said it all and made it clear how “cold” the experience was.

And the words she wrote next to the photos, accompany the feeling: “I was trying to make Cryotherapy, couture. Failed. Day 1 I did 2 min 45 sec at -110 degrees Let’s see how long I last tomorrow.”

The 43-year-old former tennis player conquered -among other incredible feats- seventy-three titles, 7 Olympic golds, and 39 Grand Slams: 23 singles, 14 in women’s doubles with her sister Venus and 2 in mixed doubles with Max Mirnyi. Will she be able to beat the cold, her most challenging rival?
