Serena Williams is one of the greatest tennis players in history, with 23 Grand Slam singles titles and four Olympic gold medals.
Her 23 Slam singles events – seven Australian Opens, seven Wimbledon, six US Opens and three French Opens – are one more than fellow ‘GOAT’ candidate Steffi Graf and the most of any woman in the Open era.
Now a mother of two – Olympia Alexis Ohanian Jr and Adira River Ohanian – Williams is involved in philanthropy and invests in female and BIPOC-owned business ventures. And she recently shined during the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, dancing to Kendrick Lamar‘s monster hit “Not Like Us.”
Serena Williams offers strange souvenir on cocktail table
Serena Williams celebrated the one-year anniversary of her beauty brand WYN Beauty during a popup event in Los Angeles, California. The brand was developed by Williams as makeup people can move in. The products are wrapped in a color that holds a special meaning for Serena: a green that resembles a tennis ball.
“This intention is at the core of our formulas, made with clean, high-performing, cruelty-free ingredients that wear beautifully and nourish your skin as you move throughout your day.” states the company on its website.
However, fans were intrigued by a strange souvenir that Serena gave her guests: it was a lipstick from WYN Beauty, but the shape of the exterior made it seem like it was a big pill. The product is part of the Mocha Lip Trio that promises to bring all the coca indulgence into the year.
A fashion icon and a trend setter
Serena Williams is trend setter and a fashion icon that has taken her passion for tennis into the beauty products industry. “My mission for WYN BEAUTY was to create a space I’ve always craved, where active beauty is celebrated and makeup is made to move in.” the legendary athlete stated on her website.
“Beauty should be fun, a source of extra confidence that lets you focus on everything else that matters to you. These are products for everyone who knows they don’t have to pick between looking and performing their best.” said the best tennis player of all time.
Throughout her tennis career, Serena’s strength has always been coupled with self-expression through beauty: her beaded braids, nails that grew bolder each season, a cat eye that became her signature on-the-court look. Serena believes in the beauty of showing up as your best self.
