Alexis Ohanian wasted no time securing dinner with Caitlin Clark after the Indiana Fever star admitted his wife, Serena Williams, is her dream dinner guest and now the Reddit co-founder reacts to meeting her at an NFL meeting.
The 41-year-old social media tycoon, worth $150m, offered the WNBA Rookie of the Year an “open invitation” to their home; although their actual meeting came at an NFL league event.
Attending a panel discussion at the NFL Annual Meeting, Williams and Clark discussed the “changing face of sports and its impact on the NFL”, alongside Eli Manning and Mellody Hobson.
So, Ohanian finally got his chance to meet Clark just weeks after inviting her to his home, as they posed for a selfie together whilst the 23-year-old basketball star donned a striking red bodysuit.
“Finally met the one and only @caitlinclark22 IRL (impressive young woman off the court as well),” Ohanian wrote on Instagram. “Great hosting, Melody, and all star panel from CC, my friend and fellow @NWSL owner @elimanning.
“And ofc the GOAT my wife @serenawilliams – expect some big things from the @NFL in 2025.”
Why were Clark and Williams there?
Although they are trail blazers in their respective sports of basketball and tennis, fans might be wondering why Clark and Williams were at the NFL Annual Meeting considering their relatively low involvement in football.
It turns out to be a testament to their legacies within their own sports and their shared ability to transcend their respective disciplines as the Executive Vice President of Football Operations reveals he wanted their input on women’s flag football.
“We don’t get an opportunity to talk about this enough,” Troy Vincent said. “Just the explosion of women in sports.
“This is happening across the globe, and we want to continue that conversation among our membership.”
